Border guard Vitalii, currently serving in the Steel Border Brigade of the Offensive Guard, sustained a severe combat injury in Donetsk in 2014. At that time, "The Spartan" and his comrades were traveling in an infantry fighting vehicle when they hit a russian mine.

The injury confined him to a wheelchair for nearly a year, but it did not break his spirit. The man rightfully bears the pseudonym "The Spartan." After this tragedy, he not only learned to walk again and discarded his crutches, but also won several prizes at the Invictus Games.

Now, the border guard continues to defend Ukraine within the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He firmly believes in victory and asserts that a strong moral spirit is the foundation of any triumph.
